Even if I don't like most of those creatures with 6 or more (*aargh*) legs, they look fantastic in closeup views. Your pictures are really great! Birgit from Austria
These are great captures. It is really interesting to see different types of insects here.Interestingly these all insects have their own beautiful features.
Oh wow! Impressive photos. Incredible that you got these. I tried to photograph some insects this weekend and failed miserably. I am most attracted by the eyes. They are so shiny.
Hi Sue, Congrats on your amazing images. Otherworldly indeed! The closeups are shimmering bright. OMG,the dragonfly and its shadow is marvelous. You've got the expertise. Thanks!
I wish I had your talent for photography. Today we say dozens of beautiful, purple dragon-fly like insects at the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, Alaska. I didn't even try to get a photo but I wish I had been able to.
Very nice set of macro images. I have never really tried macro photography, but I do find it fascinating. The level of detail achieved is remarkable. Nice work.
I was leaving a comment this morning and got interrupted. I love your macros of all these insects. They look so interesting close up--love the cicada's red eyes!
PS: Thankfully we did not see any bears in the park we walked in! I believe it would be too busy a place for bears to stay in during the day, but I would not be surprised if they came by at night to look for food in the picnic areas!
Great macro shots! You got some great ones here. I haven't been quite so lucky since getting my macro lens last summer. I really hoped this spring would provide an opportunity to use it, but my timing was off. Oh well...maybe I will have good luck finding the right instance to use it heavily. Have a fototastic week!

Superb photos. Love the diversity in nature but I'm glad most of them aren't in my backyard. I'm very skittish around bees, hornets and spiders.
