Care for a camel ride?

As our bus traveled down the road in Jericho, this enterprising gent came trotting along to sell us a camel ride.

Here is a view of the Mount of Temptation, which soars above Jericho. Note the monastery near the summit.

We'd already had the opportunity to ride a camel in Nazareth earlier, so passed this time. But the camel brightened up the arid landscape, didn't he?

  1. Hehe... great colourful camel images. They remind me of my time living in the Middle East. I would be quite usual to have a truck pull up along side you at the traffic lights loaded with a camel gazing into your window...chewing the cud and looking extremely relaxed in the middle of rush hour.
Thanks for sharing and bringing the memory back to me :D
    Have a great week

  9. fabulous shots. I am fascinated by structures perched on top(middle) of bare, not easily accessible (at least for transporting materials for construction) mountains, rocks, hills...

  27. Sue, excellent photos but I suspect riding a camel is about as bad as being on a horse. Am I right? :D Be sure to drop by for a look at the letter “D” (dogs)in my A2Z series, Art Sketching through the Alphabet! Have a good day, my friend!
