Inside the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts
To quote from their website, "As the first art school and museum in the United States, PAFA celebrates the transformative power of art and art-making." The artwork which you will see in the next few posts is something to look forward to, but it would be a shame to ignore some of the architectural features that make this building a thing of beauty.

Wow, that really is a beautifully designed building. And because of the floor tiles, the wall design and the shape of the archways, it reminds me of the Alhambra, for example: https://rostrose.blogspot.com/2018/02/spanische-tage-5-besuch-der-alhambra.html ) or certain details in the Palau Guell by Antoni Gaudi / Barcelona ( https://rostrose.blogspot.com/2012/08/palau-guell.html )
ReplyDeleteIt is particularly beautiful that the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts is so flooded with light.
All the best, Traude

Very interesting . And the architecture looks to me european style.. But I think that´s no wonder because most of the immigrants came from there.
ReplyDeleteHave a good time and all the best
