The Mummers


The Mummers Parade (held on New Years Day) is an institution in Philadelphia. The outfits are ornate and colorful and the music is full of energy. Three Mummers came to our community "pep rally" prior to the Philadelphia Eagles' decisive Super Bowl win. Philadelphia was bursting with energy before the even, and with pride afterwards. The Eagles did us proud!

    Thank you for this post! The mummer s are a wonderful thing about Philadelphia. The oldest folk event of its kind in America. Some believe that when Good philadelphians enter heaven. They are doing the mummers strut. Aloha friend

    Mummers reminds me of the 90s sing "The Mummers Dance" by Loreena McKennitt.

    Ils sont vraiment étonnants tous les trois. Je ne sais pas ce que donne la musique, mais si elle est à la hauteur des costumes, ça doit valoir le détour

    Lovely colourful outfits. In the UK Mummers are actors who are silent throughout the play.
