The other-worldly world of orchids

Once again, hubby & I made our way out to Orchid Trail, which is located in Morrisville, NC. If you haven't had a chance to visit a quality orchid greenhouse, you've missed something special. We're planning to head out there at least every few months during the blooming season just to see what's new. Each time we go, we're amazed at the diversity of the plants we see blooming there.

Did you know that there are over 25,000 known species of natural (i.e. non-hybrid) orchids that have been identified? Amazing, isn't it!
