    1. Those are collection baskets. The ushers can extend them to the end of the pews at the time of the offertory.

    1. According to Wikipedia, "Its historic main church is of the Spanish Baroque style. It was designed by Spanish architect Rafael Guastavino, who is known for his work on the Biltmore Estate, Basilica of St. Lawrence, and Duke Chapel. The church was constructed without wooden or steel beams and without nails, instead using brick tile." The construction began in 1909.

  45. Beautiful church, I could spend hours in these old churches looking at the artwork. Always amazed me that they found the money first of all, and secondly how they actually built them. how did that stained glass window get up there for example? :)
