As our bus traveled down the road in Jericho, this enterprising gent came trotting along to sell us a camel ride. |
Here is a view of the Mount of Temptation, which soars above Jericho. Note the monastery near the summit. |
We'd already had the opportunity to ride a camel in Nazareth earlier, so passed this time. But the camel brightened up the arid landscape, didn't he? |
Hehe... great colourful camel images. They remind me of my time living in the Middle East. I would be quite usual to have a truck pull up along side you at the traffic lights loaded with a camel gazing into your window...chewing the cud and looking extremely relaxed in the middle of rush hour.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and bringing the memory back to me :D
Have a great week

ReplyDeletefabulous shots. I am fascinated by structures perched on top(middle) of bare, not easily accessible (at least for transporting materials for construction) mountains, rocks, hills...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stark landscape, and a very colorful camel!
ReplyDeleteI agree. The camel does brighten up your photo. Riding them is a once in a lifetime experience for me. It was not comfortable to do again.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo but I'm not much into camel rides. It will rattle your hips.
ReplyDeleteI tried that twice, while in Morocco and in Egypt...not really my favorite :)
ReplyDeleteThe more pictures you share, the more I want to visit Israel. The thought of walking through the places where all the stories in the Scriptures happened, just bring me chills. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThat's on my bucket list! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, that camel adds a pop of color to the landscape. I rode one in Egypt.

ReplyDeleteNever ride a camel :( but it looks good in the pictures. Pretty captures.
ReplyDeleteGosh the camels look awkward laying down, their back legs look uncomfortable. Great photos!!!

Your pictures makes me think of my trips through Turkey, Morocco and Tunisia ! The landscapes look the same ! And each time I have the opportunity I ride on a camel ! Love it !
ReplyDeleteSue, excellent photos but I suspect riding a camel is about as bad as being on a horse. Am I right? :D Be sure to drop by for a look at the letter “D” (dogs)in my A2Z series, Art Sketching through the Alphabet! Have a good day, my friend!
ReplyDeleteAwww, so lovely, and what a great experience too! Love these shots Sue. - Tasha
