Making a dangerous situation kid-friendly?


Entrance into the bomb shelter at the Dan Hotel in Jerusalem.





I can't quite fathom what it would be like to live in a country where this sort of thing is taken for granted as a normal security measure. Pray for peace for our world.

    Of course it is sad that we have to have bomb shelters, but this one is being put to good use! Danyland is the children's club run by the Dan Hotels and they have "set up shop" in the shelter. Of course that means that if or when the shelter is ever needed, it will be filled with fun toys and games to keep the children occupied. A win-win situation.

    I don't think I could cope with a world where we had to have bomb shelters. But I like that they have made them kid friendly - but so sad this is a part of their life. The world seems to be going mad. I pray for peace.

    Very sobering image, yet the decorations may help relieve the anxiety of a small child or parents who must enter the shelter under what could be terrifying circumstances.

    I can imagine that having to use a bomb shelter as a kid would be very scary. This creative idea helps take the fear away. So many scary things in our world!

It's hard to imagine living in a country where you have to worry with such things but then again we know there will never be peace in the middle east (or any where else) on earth.
