Back to Ireland for a bit...

With the holidays, I changed focus for a bit, but I would like to share a few more photos of our trip to Ireland. These images are from Belfast.

Albert Memorial Clock - The clock tower "leans" a bit, although not as dramatically as the one in Pisa.

A few shots from Queens University:

Some images of the Peace Wall. Although it is a symbol of the peace process which put an end to "the troubles", there are still vestiges of uneasiness and enmity, especially among those who lived through the persecution and violence.

As we approach a new year, may we pray for a lasting peace in our world, especially in Ukraine and the Middle East.

  3. I like the murals, Ireland along with Scotland have always been about independance. My mum's grandmother came from Ireland in the 1800s due to the potato famine.

  12. Beautiful photos. I do like Northern Ireland and also the Republic. The first time we went to Belfast we saw the Peace Wall and I was surprised at how many barricades there still are, and the heavy barricading on the police stations. The news makes you think all is quiet and peaceful, but the reality is that it is a very uneasy peace.
