Helleborus
Helleborus (AKA Lenten Rose) has to be one of my favorite spring flowers. It spreads slowly but steadily into an evergreen mat which blooms even before the daffodils and crocuses do.This particular bloom is fuller than most. Its name is Helleborus x hybridus 'Painted Doubles' (Painted Doubles Lenten Rose). We found it at Plants Delight Nursery, which has a wonderful selection of both usual and - especially - unusual plants.
