A smattering of superrealism from the Nasher Museum of Art

I must admit that this sort of art isn't my first choice, but it's kind of interesting. What do you think?

A detail from the first painting.

The artist was demonstrating his opinion of politicians. I have to agree.

Once again, a detail from the previous painting.

  4. Great paintings, not so 'bad' surrealism to me. My favourites are the house and the girl in the yellow dress. They are very beautiful.

  5. They are garish and would not like them on my wall, but the details are engaging and perplexing.

    1. Absolutely. Interesting in a museum, but it would be jarring in my home!

  6. You are right, it is interesting, but like you would not be my choice for my home. I agree with Kenneth, the pictures are perplexing, but I must say colorful!

  14. I wouldn't say Surrealisme it is more realistic then abstract. In any case the painter gave his paintings a personal touch and one would recognize his style. I paint too and I know that this is very important !

  16. I like them. The style was popular in the 1930's, I think.
