I love your ability to capture the tiniest things (and appreciate them too!). I cannot do another thing but to smile when I see those bug eyes. Like when they are looking straight at you.
The last picture is amazing - as if you two made eye contact, the insect has that look that says: Did I sign a release for that picture" or "This is my better side, so snap away. A bit of attitude from this mantis - but a great capture!
Hi there, Very cool bug (not sure what to call it) and a set of lovely macros against the greenery! Thanks for visiting me also. Have a Great Day! Peace :)
Great shots, I like the curve of the mantis' body, and of course its weird triangular head and eyes, the ultimate insect predator. They make me glad I'm not a bug.
A mantis freaks me out just a little bit less than a big hairy spider freaks me out. These are gorgeous photos to look at, but I'm sooo glad you shared photos and I didn't have to be face to face with a real one.
I love praying mantis! we used to catch them all the time. let them pinch onto our fingers. such interesting little creatures, and you captured it beautifully.
Great capture. Did you have to get real close, or were you able to use super zoom or something? Because I've never seen a preying mantis that close up before!
My mother used to find the egg sacs of these wonderful creatures and hatch them in a safe place from wasps and birds. Mother started do be a an organic farmer when she, in the 50's, saw the devastating effects of DDT.
Oh these are great Sue. The mantids are cool looking insects and predatory at that.. Thank you for linking in and I am glad to see how well your linky is doing.. Michelle
