Hello Sue, what a beautiful church. The altar, stained glass and the ceiling are just beautiful. Lovely images. Thanks for hosting! Happy Monday, enjoy your new week!
According to Wikipedia, "Its historic main church is of the Spanish Baroque style. It was designed by Spanish architect Rafael Guastavino, who is known for his work on the Biltmore Estate, Basilica of St. Lawrence, and Duke Chapel. The church was constructed without wooden or steel beams and without nails, instead using brick tile." The construction began in 1909.
I love the colorful window high above. Great shots. They're perfect for my linkup:http://facileetbeaugusta.blogspot.de/p/naufgschaut.html would you like to share them? have a nice week gusta
Yes they are. Not sure where you're from, Sharon, but I'd be happy to bring you along to visit our church. It's much plainer than the one in this post, though!
Beautiful church, I could spend hours in these old churches looking at the artwork. Always amazed me that they found the money first of all, and secondly how they actually built them. how did that stained glass window get up there for example? :)
