While we were in Charleston, West Virginia, we had the opportunity to walk around the state capital ground. They were beautifully maintained and the dome of the capital is a stunning site, especially when viewed against a beautiful blue sky and lit by the sun.

ReplyDeleteSo glad that the storm delayed its arrival, permitting you beautiful photos. As you did, I researched capitol domes and found eleven were encrusted with gold leaf to varying degrees. Ours in Connecticut is included. There is also a Gold Building in downtown Hartford, GT but I do not think it was constructed with any gold.
